1. The Challenge
Going to the movies is both a social activity (you’d rather not go alone), and a personal experience (you either like a movie or you don’t). That’s why Kinepolis and Boondoggle are working hard to create a more one-to-one communication experience for the customers. For instance : instead of the Kinepolis customer having to visit the Kinepolis website every time he needs screening info or wants to order a ticket, it’s much more efficient to supply all of this information to the customer on demand , no matter where he is or on which social network he spends his time.

2. The Solution
That’s why we launched the Kinepolis iPhone Application. its first version offers more than just movie info and screening times. The application finds your favourite cinema and lets you browse through the latest titles, top ten movies, all movies showing that week or those coming soon to your cinema. You can search for movies by title, cast, director, genre, etc.
All of these details are available for every movie, as well as the poster, a brief synopsis, the duration of the film and an official trailer. Users can create a personal "watch list" and share content via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail to organise a trip to the cinema with friends.

3. The Result
In the week of its launch, more than 17.000 Kinepolis Apps were downloaded. On the second day, the Kinepolis App took first place in the Most Wanted Free Apps list in the Apple iTunes Store and stayed in that position for more than a week. The ultimate proof that not only movie addicts but the broader Kinepolis public was waiting for this kind of personalised interaction tool. And oh yes, the British newspaper The Independent liked the application so much that they wrote a very flattering article about it. And this is just the first version of several updates planned for release throughout the year. Just wait and see :-).
